I had a lot of support from local residents to volunteer for this position. The Committee knew my enthusiastic and vibrant personality and they said I would be perfect for the role. I think it was their encouragement that convinced me to go for it.
I want to learn the ins and outs of being involved in a community residents’ group. I haven’t previously been a part of any networking group or committee, so I am really looking forward to learning all the different roles and how the group gets together to organise an event or work with the Council.
I also am looking forward to being part of a group with an overall drive and determination to make the place we live a brighter and more connected community.
I would like to implement more events throughout the year, for a variety of ages and demographics. It’s great when residents come together and share drinks or a movie, it really builds a sense of community.
I would like to help increase residents’ participation in events and committee meetings. I would love everyone who is part of the Residents Committee to have their voice heard and feel comfortable to express their opinion.
I love to play sport and be in the great outdoors. I’m a very sociable, easy going guy so I love meeting new people and getting to know the community I live in.
I’m an approachable guy who loves a chat, so please come and say hi if you see me. If you haven’t heard about the Residents’ Group I invite you to attend the next committee meeting, where we would love to hear your issues, concerns or any positive input that you may have to help promote a more connected and engaged community.
